Statement
I'm looking for a pet, a cat or dog, but am having some difficulties with that. I need a pet that would be fine with living in a small space, so maybe a pet that is not so high energy, an older one perhaps. I would not mind having to pay for something like vaccines or neutering but would prefer the pet to already have one or the other. I would also like to be able to get a pet that is near my area so I would not have to drive far.
Scenario
Morgan is opening the HelloPaws app. The app will ask her to put in a zip code or select current location to find pet shelters near her, she taps current location.

Then she is at the home screen. The top part is a greeting, followed by the location they put in, and two buttons next to each other for selecting your preferences for a dog or cat. Then two buttons for finding a dog or cat under preferences. At the bottom are the navigation icons for home and a star for favorites.

She looks at the preferences button and taps the cat. It takes her to a page is a list of traits that she can select, at the bottom is a button for apply and clear all. She selects adult and senior in the age section, for fur she selects short, and for medical she selects spayed/neutered. She then taps apply all and is back on the home screen.

On the home screen she taps the button for find a cat. It shows her a list of nearby cats that are available for adoptions with her preferences.

She taps the first cat, and it takes her to its profile page where she can see it traits and at which shelter it is in. In the meet them section, she taps on show more and it takes her to a page where she can see the full message. She then taps on show less and is back on the cat’s profile page and taps the star next to its name to put it in favorites.
She taps the back arrow button and goes back to the find cats page, there she taps on the home icon at the bottom of the page and is back on the home screen.

She taps on find dog and sees a picture of a young medium sized dog. She selects the preference button. In preference she selects adult and senior for age, small and short for size, spayed/neutered for medical and then apply all and is back on find dogs.

She taps the first dog she sees and is taken to its profile page. In meet them she taps show more and after reading it she taps show less. She than taps the star icon next to its name to put it in her favorites.

Then she taps the star icon at the bottom and sees the ones she put in her favorites to decide on where to go from there.
Example of features for the app.
These are the examples of the features that I wanted the app to have before I started to sketch them out. I wanted users to be able to search for specific traits they wanted in a pet and to be able to see the pet's background and where to find them in the pet's profile.

Sketches
First draft of sketches
For the first draft of sketches I was looking how the apps layout will look like and what goes where.
Second draft of sketches
For the second draft I was cleaning it up a bit and looking into how to navigate the app, how they would connect to each other.
